Courthouse Security

Another service the Sheriff’s Office provides is Courthouse security. These deputies are full-time Dixie County Sheriff’s Office employees who have received full certification as law enforcement officers from the State of Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission. These Deputies are committed to protecting the public and providing Courthouse employees and visitors with a safe environment.

Bailiff

The Courthouse Security Deputies also serve a dual role by acting as Bailiffs for our court proceedings. They provide security for court hearings and maintain courtroom etiquette and protocol, protecting citizens, judges, attorneys, and jurors during trials and hearings.
